As an attorney, I work with clients to help them understand the New Jersey point system and avoid the accumulation of too many points on their licenses.
Whenever possible, I refer clients to point reduction classes so they can start to reduce the number of points on their licenses. In addition to point reduction classes, you can also reduce the number of points on your license by getting safe driving credits. To qualify for safe driving credits, you have to keep your license free of additional moving violations or suspensions for a year. If you do get an additional moving violation or your license is suspended for any reason, you will restart that one-year clock necessary to qualify for the safe driving credits and will continue to accrue points.
