Newark Out-of-State Traffic Ticket Defense Attorney
Representation for Out-of-State Drivers Ticketed in New Jersey
Each year, thousands of out-of-state drivers are cited for moving violations such as speeding and other traffic offenses in New Jersey. If you're one of these drivers and would like to speak with an experienced lawyer about your rights and options, I can help.
My name is Gwendolyn O. Austin and in my practice as an attorney, I routinely represent drivers from other states who have been ticketed here. In most cases, you will not have to return to New Jersey to go to court as I can handle the matter on your behalf.

Representation for New Jersey Drivers Ticketed in Other States
If you are licensed to drive in New Jersey, but received a traffic ticket while visiting or driving through another state, it is important that you take care of the matter as soon as possible.
Generally, it's best to pay an out-of-state traffic ticket right away or hire a local attorney in that state to contest the ticket on your behalf. If you don't resolve the ticket and this oversight is reported to the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, your license will be suspended until NJMVC receives confirmation that the out of state summons is resolved. At that point you will have to pay a $100.00 restoration fee to reinstate your New Jersey driving privileges. If your New Jersey license is already suspended and you receive a moving violation in another state, you will subject to an additional suspension for driving during a period of suspension already in effect.
One bit of good news is that if you were ticketed for a moving violation in another state, only two traffic points will be added to your record, even if you would have received more points for the same violation in New Jersey.
I've made it my business to know New Jersey's traffic laws and will work with you to devise a strategy best suited to your particular needs. To put my experience to work for you, call the toll-free number to my Newark office, 866-646-9368, or contact me online.
